Cannery Row (16.7 miles northwest) This historic waterfront location was made famous by John Steinbeck’s book of the same name. No longer a sardine fishery, the area boasts restaurants, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, indoor mini golf, a wax museum, gift shops, art galleries, boutiques, cafés, kayak and bike rentals, whale watching and more. Monterey Fisherman’s Wharf – (16 miles northwest) Old Fisherman’s Wharf in downtown Monterey should be on the “must-do” list of every visitor to the area.
